As most of my friends, co-workers and family will tell you, I am very passionate about baking and food in general. I am always perusing magazine stores for the next big pastry craze or book stores for the latest cookie book. I also enjoy food history, science and facts so i thought i would include a page in my website to share with you about what i know.
Did you know that pastry chefs and bakers have a patron saint?
It is impossible to say why he is the patron saint but around 660 AD he was the bishop of Amiens and has a feast that is celebrated on May 16th. He also has a cake named after him that is made with puff pastry, choux paste and is filled with pastry cream and topped with whipped cream.
